Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport, RHD Import from South Africa. Will need UK registered but we will do all the paperwork for you in your name. All tax and duty paid and NOVA declaration done.Very solid example in a very rare colour, which we never got over here. Good standard unmolested example which are getting very hard to find.

 

Body - Mk2 escort export spec shell which had a lot of the same strengthening as our RS shells. Very solid car which doesnt look to have ever been welded underneath. Paintwork has been redone at some point . Body is very straight with a few minor marks as you would expect of a car this age. Been over this with the magnet and its very good. Evidence of a repair on bottom of nsf wing and front of drivers side sill but overall a cracking shell.

 

Mechanics - All standard 1600 crossflow with 4 speed box. Car starts no problem with no smoke or rattles. Gearbox clutch and brakes all good. Circlip seems to be missing from gearstick as it wants to go straight into reverse with no resistance. Standard suspension and brakes. Car starts runs and drives but being 40 years old will obviously benefit from a checkover before you go storming down your local b roads. Carb may need a bit adjustment due to the different climate.

 

Interior - Standard and original sport seats in very good order for their age. Will need one small repair on vinyl on outside of drivers bolster. Good dashtop, carpet, doorcards and headlining. Parcelshelf looks aftermarket and a bit naff.

 

Wheels - Standard deep dish sport steels with 175 70 13 tyres.

 

This is a really decent example of a fairly original 1600 sport. Its getting really hard to find them like this now. Please feel free to come and see the car.
